14 Year Old Inspires by WJ Vincent II
An 8th Grader Did This!
So as always here at TriplePLife, we like to bring you stories of inspiration, success, and so much more. This week we bring you something special. A chance for everyone to sit back for a moment and be inspired by the talents and abilities of a 14 year old from Louisiana.
This Piece Of Music Was Selected As a Regional Winner
My nephew Carter, is a natural song writer. He has talents and gifts few of us can imagine. Recently a piece of his work was submitted for the Music Teachers National Association Composition Competition. This piece was selected as the winner from the South Central Division and will go on to the National Competition in January. Here is the piece of which he wrote all of it, he had performed the piano part for me this summer, so hearing it all together now is even more amazing:
I don’t know what you were doing at 14, but while I was playing piano, and a pretty decent musician at that age, the extent of my own music writing was a few short piano melodies and nothing more. I have no idea if Carter’s piece will win at the National Level, and I don’t think it matters much. He has created something out of thin air that is beautiful and inspiring.
Each and every one of us has that kind of magic inside us as well. Maybe not in music, but somewhere, in something. Every single person reading this, has so much potential to make the world a better place. Sometimes we just get a little lost along the way. We thought it might be helpful as we are entering the holiday season, to be reminded that if a 14 year old can create something like that piece of music, there is nothing that any of us can’t do either. Here’s to all of us continuing to get better at whatever it is we have a passion to do in this life. Here’s to all of us moving toward our own hopes and dreams. 2020 had some challenges, but you are still here, and there is no limit to what you can accomplish in 2021 and the years to come.
