What Are The Most Important Questions To Ask Right Now?!?!?

I know many of you are feeling anxious about the future. Lets acknowledge that this is a very normal emotion to be experiencing right now based on the circumstances.

Many of you are likely wondering about things such as…

When will I be able to visit family?
Will I able to go to the lake this summer or a concert?
Will my child graduate and can we still have a party to celebrate?
Will we have to postpone our wedding, christening or Bar-mitzvah?
Will I have a job or business to go back to?
When will life return to normal?

The list is endless.

There Are Many Questions Unfortunately

There are many questions and unfortunately no one really has the answers at this point. The harsh reality is, so much of what’s happening is out of our control and that makes us feel anxious, frustrated and stressed. Very few people are comfortable feeling out of control.

Let Go Of The Need For Control

The best thing you can do is to let go of the need to be in control. One of life’s great paradoxes is, “To gain control you must give up the need for control.”  Start focusing on the things you can control, like your thoughts, emotions and actions. As an admitted control freak this was a game changer for me. The more I tried to control things, the worse things got. When I began focusing on me and my reactions life literally changed.

How Dr. Jay Started To Let Go

How I started was…

Instead of asking questions to which I had no answer for, I began to ask more empowering questions. Our world is very different today than it was just a few weeks ago. When we experience massive change so quickly – ones that literally shake us to our core – the best thing we can do is pivot. Grant Cardone mentioned this in his book “10X“. He said, those who pivot quickly learn how to adapt and innovate to meet the new challenges ahead. The more we resist the more we will struggle.

Start Asking New Empowering Questions

So think about where you are right now. Given the changes, try asking yourself a new set of empowering questions:

– What’s possible for me right now?

– What are the lessons this experience has taught me that make me a better person?

– Who do I need to become to meet the challenges ahead?

– What are my core values and have I been living congruently to those values?

– How can I improve myself personally and professionally?

– Have I used this time at home wisely?

– Have I exhibited strong leadership qualities my family could be proud of?

– Have I rekindled the most important relationships in my life and expressed my love and gratitude to them?

– How have I adapted and innovated my business to better serve my clients?

– What have I done to improve my mental, physical and spiritual well-being?

The quality of our lives is directly related to the quality of the questions we ask. If we change our internal dialogue we change how we perceive the world around us.
